1. 🛒 OpenAI built a benchmark for your errands: LifeVal tests AI on everyday jobs like finding childcare, budgeting, adapting recipes, ordering groceries and dealing with government services. OpenAI built it from US and international time-use studies plus a survey of 3,995 people. It's OpenAI's own test, so treat any scores as a first read.
Why it matters: the labs now compete on chores, not just code. Write down three errands you repeat every week and test your assistant on those.
2. 🏦 Goldman Sachs pulled Claude Code from its bankers and traders: Bloomberg reported on November 2 that Goldman now limits Claude Code and Microsoft's GitHub tools to engineers, after a test period that weighed productivity and risk. A day later Replit CEO Amjad Masad called agents on employee laptops a systemic security risk and published an advisory on what to do instead.
Why it matters: banks are limiting what agents can reach, not banning AI. Do the same at your size: each agent gets its own account and only the logins it needs. Tutorial below.
3. 🖱️ Vercel open-sourced a way for agents to use your desktop apps: agent-desktop lets an AI agent read and click through apps on Mac, Windows and Linux using the system's accessibility layer instead of screenshots. It's free under Apache-2.0, has 12,100+ GitHub stars and was the top trending repo on November 3.
Why it matters: agents are moving out of the browser and into the apps you run your business in. Try it on a spare account first, not the one with your bank and inbox.

The bad news. An agent on your main account can reach everything you can: email, files, saved passwords. Goldman decided most of its staff don't need that exposure, and last week's fake Claude Code extension showed what it costs when it goes wrong.
My call: one agent, one account
Give every agent its own user account, its own logins and one folder to work in. It takes ten minutes and costs nothing: if the agent breaks something, it breaks a sandbox. I'd change my mind once the big assistants ship per-task permissions you can actually check, not just promise.

How to give your AI agents their own account on a Mac in 10 minutes
1. Open System Settings, go to Users & Groups and click Add User. Enter your admin password when asked.
2. Pick Standard, not Administrator, name it Agents and give it its own password.
3. Log in to the new account and install only the agent tools you use there, like Claude Code or an agent CLI.
4. Sign in only to what the agent needs, with work logins. Leave your personal email, bank and password manager out of this account.
5. Turn on Fast User Switching in System Settings under Control Center, so you can hop between your account and the agent's from the menu bar.
6. Start every agent session with the note below, so it knows what it's allowed to touch.
